Being a native to Santa Barbara, Bob enjoys giving back to his community by volunteering with the school systems as well as hosting a mentor program at his home. He was a Board Member of the Montecito Union School District for 12 years and also served on the Board of Directors at Casa Esparanza Homeless Shelter. He currently serves on the Dean’s Council at the Gevirtz School of Education at UCSB.
His wife Jennifer proudly supports his work and his volunteer passions. Bob and Jennifer have been married for 30 years and are proud parents to two girls, Christina and Angela.
In his free time he enjoys taking ski trips with his family to Mammoth Mountain, fly fishing with his friends, and surfing. One of Bob's favorite quotes is by John Donne:
No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee
